Other/notable:

  • Good footing for barefoot.
  • Fields with some forests.
  • Loop trail
  • Trailheads are located across large field and across road from parking area.
  • RC airstrip adjacent to property.
  • Field and forested riding. Close to the nearby airport with intermittent air traffic. Two trailheads available. One is directly across the opposite side of Overton Rd from the parking area. The other trailhead is located across the field from the parking area. Park Police-615-880-3429 or 911 in case of emergency.

The equestrian portion of Peeler Park is a simple day use facility equipped with a large gravel pull through parking lot, benches and water hoses. 8 miles of horse trails are dedicated to equestrians and are marked by posts and arrows. There are two trail heads that can be accessed either across the field or across the driveway from the parking area. The gentle footing makes Peeler Park perfect for barefoot horses and because of the smooth, even terrain and pastoral landscape I consider this trail as an easy ride, safe for beginners but beware that there is an RC airstrip on site and Nashville airport’s flight path is sometimes very low and directly over the trails.

Peeler Park is a beautiful place to give your horse some exercise, expose them to airplanes and unusual sounds, and just enjoy preserved farmland surrounded by the city.
